Karol Jozef Brančík

Karol Jozef Brančík (1842-1915) was an important dynamic personality of the town. From the year 1878 he was the main district doctor and from 1879 he was a doctor Trenčin series. An entomologist and biologist he demonstrated exceptional organizational skills during the creation of Biological society of Trenčin district, which was founded in 1877. In 1906 he started a botanic garden in Trenčin park. He devoted his life also to archaeology, numismatics history and he also conducted an army music ensemble. In Trenčín he also founded ice-skating and tennis clubs. The memorial plaque dedicated to Dr. Brančík is on Farská ulica (street) 2.
