Ľudovít Stárek
Ľudovít Stárek (30. 3. 1803 Bratislava – 22. 3. 1863 Trenčín) studied in the lower high school in Trenčín. Upper high school he completed in Nitra, where he also continued his studies in theology at a seminary. After his ordination in 1826 he worked in Nitra and Žilina and from the years 1855 as a director of high school and head Abbot in Trenčín. He devoted his life to history was promoting the cult of Trenčin pilgrimages St. Andrej-Svorad and Benedict and he commissioned the reconstruction of several objects at Skalka. In the year 1852 he re-discovered the inscription of the Trenčín castle rock. In Bratislava he had a book printed in 1852 Wegweiser in der Trentschiner Burg-Ruine und Umrisse der Geschichte der k. Freistadtund Burg Trentschin, in which he summed up his knowledge regarding the culture and value of the history of Trenčín.
