Archaeological site at Vajanského Street

Printer-friendly version
During excavation of the building site for the Czechoslovak Commercial Bank (CSOB) in 1996 – 1997, an archaeological survey discovered the walling of a medieval sacral building. The walling is identified with either the convent Franciscan church (its collegium is mentioned in 1301), or with the church of the Johanites whose arrival in Trenčín is documented around the year 1200, and who left the City in 1301. The excavated walls are displayed at the passage of the ČSOB building.
Opening hours:
There is possible to see it from exterior through glass roofing.
