Memorial to Milan Rastislav Štefánik
Memorial is located in the Park of M. R. Štefánik (close to the public library of Michal Rešetka) it embodies a broken wing of a plane which General Štefánik crashed nearby to Bratislava during his arrival to Slovakia.
His bust is also displayed. Štefánik was born in Trencin area, village of Košariská, district Myjava. The composer of the sculpture was artist was Juraj Oravec, the memorial was first exhibited in 17. 9. 1998. It is interesting that the sculpture portrait is a fragment of an original memorial from J. Pospíšil, realized in 1938 but destroyed due to ideological reasons in 1953.
